Lexa Cutler

Lexa is a labour and employment lawyer with experience advising and representing both employers and employees in all aspects of workplace law. Lexa aims to solve any legal problem with creativity, empathy and efficiency.

Prior to joining Spring Law, Lexa worked at a boutique management-side labour and employment law firm, assisting both non-union and unionized employers of all sizes, ranging from small businesses to large corporations. Before that, Lexa worked as an associate and articling student at a plaintiff-side employment law firm where she practiced employment law, human rights law and class actions litigation. Lexa has experience problem-solving and litigating a wide range of workplace issues relating to human rights, wrongful dismissals, health and safety issues, WSIB matters and grievance and policy arbitrations. 

Lexa’s written work has been published by the Lawyer’s Daily and the Ontario Bar Association and she is a contributing author to the book Civil Procedure and Practice in Ontario. She received her JD from Queen’s University in 2020 where she was awarded the Queen’s Law Prize in Trial Advocacy and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2021. 

Lexa currently serves as Secretary on the Board of Directors for the Durham Rape Crisis Centre, a feminist organization that provides support services to survivors of sexual assault. 

Lexa recently moved to the small town of Newcastle, Ontario where she frequents local breweries, walking trails, and the dog park with her bullmastiff, River. Lexa loves camping, musical theatre, cooking, and a good fantasy novel.
